Overview
High traffic pledge collection (HTPC) offers a easy way to gather relational contacts as part of your campaign's direct voter contact efforts. Like any other high traffic efforts, its success depends largely on location, time, and attitude. We know from over one hundred fieldwork hours that HTPC is effective as an in-person activity.
Our tick sheet creates an accountability mechanism for a volunteer. From our experience, having less than 12 asks or three to six pledges per hour signals a need for a change in location or volunteer approach (depending on the traffic of the location). We recommend downloading and customizing our sheet, so that your volunteers will have a way to gauge their success in real time.
