What is the difference between polling place vote tripling (PPVT) and vote tripling pledge collection (VTPC)?
PPVT is a simple on-step process. Canvassers stand outside of a polling location during Early Voting or Election Day and ask recent voters - who are on a civic high from just having voted! - to call or text their friends on-the-spot to go vote.
VTPC is a two-step process: (1) collect a pledge and (2) send a reminder. A canvasser asks an individual - the pledger - to remind three of their friends to vote. Then, during Early Vote and/or Election Day, you send the pledger a reminder of their promise to urge friends to vote. VTPC can be done early in a cycle, as soon as direct voter contact starts. Pledges can be collected at doors during canvassing, via SMS during text banking, on phones during phone banking, or at high-traffic locations like farmer’s markets, concerts, or libraries.

DeleteWhen should we start vote tripling?
As early as possible, for three reasons: (1) the sooner you get started, the sooner you can address snags, (2) the more pledges you collect, the more people you’ll reach, and (3) you may only speak with some supporters once, and vote tripling allows that interaction to be fruitful. The sooner it is a part of your field/digital plan, the better.
DeleteIs vote tripling an app? Does my campaign/organization have to get new technology?
No and no. We haven't invented any technology. Vote tripling is merely a 'process' or 'tactic' that uses existing tech (e.g., Reach, MiniVAN, Hustle, TextOut, Shadow, etc).
DeleteWhy vote triple if we’re already using a relational organizing app?
Great to hear you’re using a relational organizing app! Many of our partners use relational organizing apps to get their highly-engaged supporters to mobilize lots of friends, while they use vote tripling to get their non-activists supporters – who may be able to reach often hard-to-reach populations – to mobilize a few friends.
DeleteWho owns the data we collect?
You! We never get or keep your data -- your lists are your lists.
DeleteHow much does it cost to work with you?
Our support, coaching, troubleshooting, and access to and use of our materials is ALWAYS FREE! For Democratic campaigns, we may need to report our time as an in-kind contribution.
DeleteWhat other tactics besides PPVT and VTPC has Vote Rev and Vote Rev Action Fund designed?
PPVT and VTPC were the two main tactics to come out of the 2020 cycle. Our Research Team is working right now to design at least one more tactic in time for the 2024 presidential election.
